#YesYouGoGirl: Sincerely Syreeta
Today, we want all of you to shower your love to a very inspirational powerhouse. This Pittsburgh native holds many titles and she is indeed the definition of a phenomenal woman. A mother, an entrepreneur, a media personality, a public speaker, and a journalist are only a few of the many avenues she conquers. She goes by the name of Sincerely Syreeta, and we are ecstatic we were presented with the opportunity to interview her. Please join us as we show our support for this wonderful woman and we are sure you will find her story inspirational.
Where are you from?
I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania--the North-side to be exact. I left there when I was 12 years-old and moved to Bear, Delaware. After graduating from high school in 2010, I made my way to attend Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
What inspired you to start your business?
My business actually started as a blog, SincerelySyreeta.com, while in college. Our professors really pushed for us to create an online presence and portfolio. I used it for that and as a way to share my journey as a single mother and non-traditional student.
Could you tell us more about your business and any other businesses that you may have?
Absolutely! Sincerely Syreeta & Co. is a media production and communications company based here in Philadelphia. The company essentially functions as an umbrella for all of my personal passions and skills; it houses a lifestyle blog (SincerelySyreeta.com), public persona (Sincerely Syreeta), strategic consulting services, live talk show (Sincerely Chosen: The Live Interview Series) and a social impact initiative (SiSy's Here).
What has been your biggest accomplishment on your journey so far?
My biggest accomplishment thus far has been the example that I've set for my two daughters, Arionna and Gabrielle, in regards to following your dreams and staying true to your purpose. My mini-me's have been there every step of the way, watching, learning, working and praying with me, and keeping mommy encouraged; so when I hear my eldest say things like, "I'm going to help run the business one day", it brings tears to my eyes. My kids believe in me, in us, and in dreaming (and working hard) to create a better quality of life.
What does your ideal future hold for you?
My ideal future holds all that I have in my life right in this very moment, only on a larger scale. I am successful now. Today. Every seed that I planted has already begun to bear "fruit"; the focus now is to perfect the nurturing process of the "fruit", and the distribution of it.
Imagine that there is at least one person reading this who is trying to be where you are (as far as starting a business and accomplishing goals). What advice would you give them?
Respect the process of the masterpiece that is YOU. You are not me. I am not you. And although I am greatly inspired by Oprah's journey, I am not her. Every single thing that you've been through up until this moment in your life has a purpose. Your perspective, your journey and your dreams matter and are needed. Figure out how to best use the resources, knowledge, talent, passion and skills that you already possess to improve your quality of life, and that of others, in some way. This is your first time here on earth (as far as we can readily remember) so don't be so hard on yourself; don't beat yourself up--trust me, the world will do enough of that, you don't need to add to it. In this life, you're either building or destroying, so in everything that you do: Build. And for goodness sake, don't run from your fears. That energy is actually fuel that can propel you into a success you never imagined. Keep moving, keep building, keep growing. The goal in life is to evolve. So love, EVOLVE.
