I’ve been told that I make everything look “chic,” and that’s my goal most of the time. I think the way I wear simple pieces and basics really makes me stand out.

Janée Barbre... Who's that girl?

Style blogger and Florida native, Janée Barbre, is really making a name for herself in the saturated world of fashion bloggers and social media. With such a feminine yet urban and trendy style, you cannot help but take a second look and become inspired. Janée uses her passion for fashion and PR background on her self-titled blog and social media accounts to share her tips on maximizing a wardrobe to insights on her personal own style. Beauty is another major part of her brand.

It is no surprise why we chose this curly-haired beauty to be on our Style Watch for the week. We could not wait to chat with Ms. Barbre to get the details on her style inspiration and learn a little more about her personal style and favorite place to shop. Check out her exclusive interview below.

What or who is your top style inspiration?

This is a tough one, I have quite a few. I’m gonna have to go with Tracee Ellis Ross. She can wear just about ANYTHING!

Do you consider yourself having a signature style? If so, what is it that makes you stand out?

I think I definitely have a signature look, but I’m still working on a signature style. I’ve been told that I make everything look “chic,” and that’s my goal most of the time. I think the way I wear simple pieces and basics really makes me stand out.

If you had to relocate to a place that would only allow you to bring one outfit, what would that outfit consist of?

Oh my goodness, only one outfit? Oh, boy... lol let’s see, ummmmm... it’d probably have to be a pair of high waist skinny jeans, preferably in black, a cute leotard/bodysuit, and some sort of cover-up, like a shawl or kimono. Aa far as shoes, I’ll just have to go with all white Chucks. I’d totally say heels, but I just don’t know. Sneakers seem like a safer choice. I think I can make that work!

If you received a $500 gift card that could anywhere, but ONLY for purchasing clothes and/or shoes, where would you shop?

Definitely Zara! Who wouldn’t want to spend $500 to spend in Zara?

What are a few of your closet staples?

Oh, I have a few closet staples. I can’t live without my black high-waist jeans. I have an everyday pair, a going out pair, and then like a backup pair (just in case). I love bodysuits from American Apparel, they’re definitely a staple. Denim is necessary, especially my mom jeans. Loveeeee them! I have this little denim pouch from American Apparel that I absolutely adore. Also, a solid white tee and gold hoops.

If you could, name 3 people that you consider fashion icons:

Three people that I consider to be fashion icons are Diana Ross, Marjorie Harvey and Rihanna.

Do you have any advice for someone who is trying to find their personal style?

My advice for someone who is trying to find their personal style is simply to just try everything and rock what works best for you. I know at times it can be hard to ignore trend and current fashion, but just remember that style is eternal and fashion fades.
