Brand Partnerships & Sponsorship Coordinator (Commission-Based Independent Contractor)

Location: Remote/Hybrid with occasional Richmond, VA event participation preferred

Mostly Sugar Media is seeking a confident, professional, and relationship-driven Brand Partnerships & Sponsorship Coordinator to assist in securing sponsorships, strategic collaborations, in-kind support, advertising partnerships, and business relationships that directly support the growth of our media company, events, and cultural activations.

This opportunity is ideal for a self-motivated individual with strong networking, sales, public relations, or business development instincts who is interested in earning based on performance while helping expand an emerging lifestyle media brand.

The Brand Partnerships & Sponsorship Coordinator will serve as a key representative in identifying new revenue opportunities, building relationships with brands, and helping close partnerships aligned with Mostly Sugar Media’s audience and initiatives.


POSITION OVERVIEW

The Brand Partnerships & Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for proactively identifying, pitching, cultivating, and helping secure sponsorship and partnership opportunities for Mostly Sugar Media’s editorial platform, branded experiences, signature events, and community programming.

This is a contractor-based, commission-only role designed for someone who is comfortable taking initiative, managing outreach independently, and earning based on successful partnership results.

This position works closely with company leadership but maintains flexibility in schedule and outreach methods.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sponsorship Lead Research & Prospecting

  • Identify local, regional, and national businesses, corporations, nonprofits, and brands that align with Mostly Sugar Media’s audience, mission, and event opportunities

  • Research decision-makers, marketing contacts, partnership managers, and community relations representatives

  • Build and maintain a prospect pipeline of qualified sponsorship leads

Partnership Outreach & Relationship Cultivation

  • Conduct sponsorship outreach through email, LinkedIn, phone, and social channels

  • Introduce Mostly Sugar Media partnership opportunities to prospective sponsors and collaborators

  • Nurture communication with interested leads and maintain follow-up touchpoints

  • Schedule discovery conversations or meetings with qualified prospects as needed

Sponsorship Proposal Coordination

  • Assist in communicating sponsorship opportunities, benefits, audience reach, and activation offerings

  • Work with leadership to customize sponsorship opportunities based on business needs

  • Help move prospects through the proposal and closing process

In-Kind & Community Collaboration Development

  • Secure product sponsors, service sponsors, venue support, giveaway contributors, and media partners

  • Cultivate relationships that provide value-added support for Mostly Sugar Media activations and campaigns

Reporting & Pipeline Updates

  • Maintain organized records of outreach activity, prospect status, meeting notes, and active opportunities

  • Submit regular progress updates regarding leads generated, conversations initiated, and sponsorship outcomes


IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking someone who is:

Prior experience in sponsorship sales, fundraising, media sales, advertising sales, PR outreach, account management, or business development is preferred, but not required.


COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

This is a 100% commission-based independent contractor opportunity.

Compensation is earned through approved sponsorships, paid collaborations, advertising placements, and qualifying business partnerships successfully sourced and secured by the coordinator.

Commission percentages, deal qualification standards, and payout timelines will be discussed during onboarding and outlined in an independent contractor agreement.

There is no hourly wage or salary attached to this role.
