The Legacy Brunch & Co. Empowers Families to Build a Lasting Legacy

The Legacy Brunch & Co. Addresses Wealth Disparities in Minority Families, Featuring Vanessa Simmons as Special Celebrity Guest

RICHMOND, VA - June 4, 2023 - The Legacy Brunch & Co. will host a significant event focusing on wealth disparities within minority families. The transformative brunch, taking place on June 11th from 12-3 p.m. at the esteemed Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia (122 West Leigh Street, Richmond, VA 23220), aims to empower attendees in overcoming financial inequalities and establishing a lasting legacy.

Recent data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis highlights the wealth gaps younger Americans face, particularly millennials and Gen Zers. These individuals possess only 84 cents for every $1 of wealth owned by baby boomers at the same age. The disparity is even more pronounced within minority communities, where black families own about 25 cents and Hispanic families own about 24 cents for every $1 of white family wealth. The Legacy Brunch & Co. recognizes these inequalities and seeks to provide practical solutions to bridge the wealth gap.

“The Legacy Brunch & Co is bringing awareness of the importance of building a legacy and providing the information to start having financial literacy conversations within our families in the African American community,” said LaTonya Taylor, founder of The Legacy Brunch & Co.

Vanessa Simmons, a prominent mother, actress, and entrepreneur from the legendary Simmons family, will be in attendance as the special celebrity guest. Simmons will bring awareness to the importance of building a legacy for families in the African American community, sharing her personal insights and experiences.

"Legacy is something that I feel should be taught to our community," said Simmons. "I'm really excited to come and talk to people to find out how we can collectively come together and define our own legacies."

Attendees of The Legacy Brunch will not only enjoy a delectable brunch and a vibrant mimosa bar but will also gain access to invaluable legacy-building tools and resources. The event offers an opportunity to receive boss-up advice from Vanessa Simmons and other accomplished CEOs who have successfully built legacies through business ownership and investment.

The Legacy Brunch will foster engaging conversations and facilitate CEO table talk sessions, allowing attendees to participate and learn from industry experts actively. By equipping guests with the necessary tools, this event will enable them to build their empires and make a profound impact on the world.

LaTonya Taylor invites individuals from all walks of life to join the conversation and embark on a transformative journey toward building a lasting legacy. The event promises an inspiring atmosphere where attendees can collectively work towards closing the wealth gap and reshaping the future.
