The Only Eyewear Drop That Matters This Spring
Quiet maximalism just got louder. The limited-edition collab dropping today is exactly what your face has been waiting for.
Tracee Ellis Ross has been wearing glasses since she was six years old. Prescription glasses, reading glasses, sunglasses — all of it, all the time. That's not a fun fact. That's a founding philosophy. And now, after decades of turning frames into the punctuation mark of some of the most iconic looks in fashion and entertainment, she's put her name on them.
The Tracee Ellis Ross x Emmanuelle Khanh eyewear collaboration is officially live as of today, April 7, 2026 — a limited-edition capsule born from the union of Tracee's unapologetic personal style and the legacy French house's 50-plus years of avant-garde craftsmanship. Every piece is handcrafted in France in a limited production batch of just 100 pieces per colorway. This is not a fast-fashion moment. This is a collectible — and the clock is already running.
"French style is an anchoring inspiration for my style: quiet maximalism, unapologetically personal and functional with great accessories," Tracee says. This collection is the proof of concept.
The collection is built around two styles, each named with intention.

Glossy Prairie Glossy Red Glossy Sun Griotte Lacquer Classic Organic Havana Shop TRUTH →FREEDOM is the sunglasses. Oversized, full-coverage BioNylon shields landing in five colorways: Frozen, Caramel, Plum, Organic Black, and Classic Organic Havana. "Freedom is a perfect pair of sunglasses," Tracee says. "They give you full coverage. We stayed in the natural range of color because the frame is so exaggerated." At $700, with 100% UVA/UVB protection and an oversize fit built for drama, these are doing exactly what the name says.
TRUTH is the optical. A reimagined vintage EK aviator frame arriving in five colorways — Glossy Prairie, Glossy Red, Griotte Lacquer, Glossy Sun, and Classic Organic Havana. "These are a revamp of a vintage frame that is the EK interpretation of an aviator," Tracee says. "I love an aviator because I think they look good on everybody. For the color, we went vibrant and joyful...just like me." At $505, TRUTH is for the woman who needs to see clearly and still arrive.
The global eyewear market is projected to surpass $185 billion by 2027, and celebrity-led accessory collabs are among the fastest-growing segments driving that number. But what separates this drop from the noise is the authenticity behind it. Tracee didn't lend her name to a mood board. The campaign leading up to today told the whole story without showing a single product — just her words in bold red type: "I know glasses and I love glasses — especially frames that are bold and offer a bit of glamour. EK fits the bill and always has." The house let her voice do the selling. It worked.
Both styles are available now exclusively at ek.fr and select retail partners worldwide. With only 100 pieces per colorway, limited edition means exactly that. We wouldn't wait.
