Media Correspondent
Media Correspondent (Independent Contractor; Unpaid Volunteer— Eligible for Paid Opportunities)
Mostly Sugar Media is seeking dynamic, culturally aware Media Correspondents to contribute to our growing fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and culture platform. This role is ideal for an emerging journalist, content creator, on-camera host, or freelance creative looking to expand their portfolio, gain industry access, and build visibility through meaningful storytelling and event coverage.
Media Correspondents serve as brand representatives both on-camera and in the community. Contributors will pitch stories, conduct interviews, cover events, create digital-first content, and assist in producing engaging editorial and social media coverage that aligns with Mostly Sugar Media’s voice and audience.
This is a contractor volunteer role with eligibility for paid assignments, sponsored opportunities, event stipends, and future freelance opportunities based on performance, consistency, professionalism, and availability.

Responsibilities
Conduct on-camera and written interviews with creatives, entrepreneurs, influencers, public figures, brands, and community leaders
Attend and cover events, launches, activations, fashion shows, panels, pop-ups, and cultural experiences
Pitch original story ideas, features, interviews, and coverage opportunities
Create engaging short-form digital content for social platforms
Collaborate with editors, photographers, videographers, producers, and the multimedia team to execute coverage
Support pre-production and planning for assigned coverage opportunities
Represent Mostly Sugar Media professionally at public events and industry functions
Assist with securing interviews, coordinating talent communications, and gathering supporting assets when needed
Stay informed on trends and conversations shaping fashion, beauty, culture, and digital media
Qualifications
Prior experience interviewing talent, public figures, business owners, or community members
Comfortable speaking on camera and appearing in video content
Strong communication, storytelling, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
Organized, proactive, and responsive with strong time management skills
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital media trends
Experience in journalism, media, communications, public relations, broadcasting, hosting, podcasting, or content creation preferred
Photography, videography, editing, or social media management skills are a plus
